Sir: Tobacco smoking in Pakistan is legal but over the age of 18. Smoking is extremely dangerous to health.
Smoking damages your lungs, and badly effects blood circulation, increasing the risk of conditions such as coronary heart disease, heart disease, stroke, peripheral vascular disease and cerebrovascular disease. In Pakistan, about 177 million cigarettes are consumed every day. Men, in particular, smoke in public places and this passive smoking is more dangerous for those around these smokers. Gutka has been banned because people spit on the roads and make the roads dirty.
After gutka ban, public smoking should also be ban and government should impose heavy fine on violation.
